The epic battle for sale supremacy in the US has been a battle of two titans Lexus and BMW. They continually rattle the swords in a an ever changing battle for the top sales title in the US. Agent009 predicted that BMW would stay on top after over taking Lexus three months ago and was meet with disbelief. Now after three months in a row of BMW taking Lexus to the whipping shed, even the mainstream press is starting to echo his claims. Victory is such a sweet thing it is easily lost, and only time will tell if BMW can hold on for the remainder of the year.

General Motor CEO Rick Wagner one said they would never go bankrupt on his watch. While I though this statement was far from the truth, it appears he was right. Shortly after his ouster from the executive ranks within GM though, the tide began to change. On Monday it all came to a head when the corporate giant filed the largest industrial bankruptcy in history. The staggering total alone may not have been as insulting enough if it weren’t for the fact the GM announced earlier in the week, a plan to outsource manufacturing of many models. So it appears all of those hard earn tax dollars spent to save US job may have been in vain, as ultimately the jobs on US soil were never destined to be saved. Sometimes you can do all of the right things and still not win.

There is little doubt that Infiniti is at a crossroads. With sales creeping lower and lower each month it seems they have lost that magic touch. Even arch rival Audi, never a strong US player has surpassed the marque in sales for the first time. The Achilles heel of the brand may have been the loss of traction in the SUV market. Agent001 took a look at the new EX SUV touted as the salvation of the brand, and asked why has it not gained widespread acceptance. After all other smaller SUV in the market are doing well so it makes you wonder where they missed the mark.
