The election is over and we have a new leader with the same old problems. With new leadership, comes the hope for many that the U.S. economy can be rescued from the brink of self destruction. But will it happen at what cost? Agent00J asked if you would be willing to take one for the home team, in a effort to restore the U.S. auto industry from certain downfall. Like many of you, I think we need to do something, but there is a price to pay for years of neglect and bad management. But should I pay for bad corporate leadership?

So how bad is it for the Detroit Three? If you listen to GM’s announcement last week, you would believe that they only have days left before potential implosion. You always have to always weigh such doomsday announcements with a grain of salt. But after reviewing these balance sheets, it becomes apparent that GM is in a nose it will not recover from unless there is outside intervention. While Ford isn’t too far behind GM, the surprise underdog could actually be Chrysler. With cash in reserves to hold them over they may actually have the capacity to pick up the pieces and dominate the remaining market. Talk about an ace in the hole!

The affects of any bailout program are unknown at this time. But can a bailout really save Detroit? While we all want to do what is best, sometimes you simply can’t can pull the wagon out of the rut. Agent001 asked you if it was simply too late to save Detroit, can president elect Obama save the Detroit three from themselves before it is too late? Well, if Obama can actually save Detroit, he may need to read Agent001’s plan for a few hints on just how to do it. Because this man is going to need all of the help he can get.
