A Lexus for the masses? The sporty entry level HS250h is shaping up to be just that for Lexus. But how will it compare to the competition? Reader Inspiron7 took on the challenge and immediately started drawing comparisons to the famed BMW 335d Blue Performance. While admittedly these two are vastly different interpretations of upscale miserly sedans, they have more in common than you think. I wouldn’t count out Lexus just yet, but with spy shots surfacing this week of the all new 2012 3-Series, BMW might have a few more tricks up its sleeve.


Lexus much heralded and long awaited halo supercar, the LF-A maybe coming sooner than you think. With a rumored 2010 target date and a 220 mph top end, Lexus fans have good reason to rejoice. Has Lexus at long last found it’s mojo? It fans might want to think so, but they better hope they gain acceptance off brand reputation rather than race heritage. Last week the LF-A ran the in Nurburgring 24 Hours for the second year in a row and wound up in 87th place behind even a private entry IS-F. We know these things take time, but so far the LF-A is off to a rocky start when it comes to legends in the making.


GM is on the ropes and the whole industry may hang in the balance. What do you do if the whole industry is hanging by a thread? Well if you are Toyota, you take your existing hybrid technology and give it to your fallen comrade in the hopes that you will now become the defacto standard of the industry. A very shrewd move that preserves not only the industry but benefits you substantially. I have to give to those guys over at Toyota that can play both sides of the fence quite effectively and this is one powerful tool.


The summer is rapidly approaching and if you are like me you can’t wait to get on that trip. But if this is a driving trip, and do you have the best car for the task? If it is a camping trip, that Porsche Cayman simply won’t do, but if you are taking that scenic mountain trip it is perfect.
