What a seemingly exciting week it has been for automotive enthusiasts the world over.  BMW released the first official US pictures of the newly updated 3-Series, a perennial favorite of a lot of AutoSpies.com readers.  Opinions varied, however the new LED taillights seem to be high on everyone’s list, and the updated iDrive looks to attract more users to the one control does all interface.

Agent001 spent time in Russia this past week covering the TransSyberia Rally courtesy of Porsche.  Aside from some amazing photos of Moscow, Agent001 again showed his talent for capturing the essence of his subjects as he clicked picture after picture really giving us a true sense of not only Russia, but the competitors who were taking part in the Rally.  Agent001 is off again early next week to Mongolia to document the conclusion to this race and bring you up close and personal with the people who helped make this rally a success.

General Motors again graced headlines nationwide as significant cutbacks are again passed on to current and past employees, this time in the form of drastic cuts in healthcare.  Sadly the current state of the economy doesn’t allow for promises previously made; however an additional amount was added to the monthly checks sent out by GM.  It used to be said that what is good for General Motors is good for America, I wonder how much truth that statement still holds given current economic woes?

One of our loyal users posted a story simply posing the question as to what your current car(s) are.  Lots of you sounded off listing cars and colors and even a few wants or next planned vehicles.  Not meant to incite jealousy, instead the story went a long way to uniting us under the enthusiast umbrella, although I have to say there are more than a few of you out there driving cars I wish I were driving!

Station Wagons are once again cool, or are they?  When the wagon you’re driving wears the nomenclature E63 – They are definitely cool.  The headline read “Audi R8 Smoked By Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Wagon” and more than a few of you chimed in to voice your opinion of the story.  Too bad we all didn’t grow up with parents who drove cars like the E63, which certainly would have made borrowing the family car a lot more fun in high school!
