The holidays are over for most of us, and a new year has begun. Looking back I can say 2008 was a year to remember, but not for many good reasons we would like. On Monday January 5th when the automakers release final 2008 figures we should be able to just how bad a year it was. So check in with us as see how your favorites ended 2008.

Looking at the brighter side of things, not everyone has all bad news. Hyundai announced this year’s Super Bowl ads will spotlight their newest addition, the Genesis Coupe. Not only does Hyundai actually have the cash to actually have a Super Bowl ad budget, they have the moxy to take that opportunity to market the Genesis coupe as a genuine performance car! Look out BMW Hyundai is looking to take a slice of your pie!

But we aren’t quite done with Hyundai just yet. An interesting question that kept surfacing over the last few months was, just how well has the new Genesis been selling? Hyundai’s CEO cleared that up last week, by indicating the Genesis was selling well in spite of the economy. And believe it or not, 40% of Genesis buyers were former Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche owners. Even though we have continually warned that people are demanding luxury cars without the luxury car prices, that news startled a number of you. With a sour economy in the future for much of 2009, I might venture to say that the Genesis may just take off at the expenses of several better known luxury brands.

Everyone has a “Best of 2008 list, but Agent00J decided to flip that around a bit by asking you what was the worst car or truck released in 2008. That list can be pretty long as many of you pointed out. But by the end we had a pretty good list of vehicles that could make a top 10 list. But was your voice heard?

Entry level premium cars offer luxury and value, but they may not live up to the preconceived expectations of those who test them. Such was the case we featured a shootout of the Audi A4 against the Mercedes C350. On paper it looked pretty even, but when the dust settled there was a story to tell. Could the A4 over take the C350 as the better car? You will have to read this one to believe it.
