Target practice is relatively simple. Just take aim and fire, and with a little luck, or a lot of skill, you can score a bull’s eye. So given that train of thought, why can’t the competition ever hit the target when it is the BMW 3-Series? You would think with all of the global resources devoted to taking on this iconic vehicle, that someone would be able to take it down. But, after years of trying we have only seen a handful of vehicles come close but they always seem to fall short. Is BMW just so far head the rest that they are lucky to just keep up?

Hyundai is having great success with the Genesis lineup. Now with the sedan making in roads into the near luxury segment, the second salvo in the arsenal, the Genesis coupe has line up for the assault. But who should be threatened the most BMW or Infiniti? Well with a base price of $22,000 and a 300hp version for only $3,000 more, it seems EVERYONE needs to take notice. Hyundai has the opportunity of a lifetime here to steal a whole segment from under the establishment. Has Hyundai outdone even Lexus?

The battle of the greenies is being fought on American soil for the first time this year. The established poster child for the green movement the Toyota Prius finally has a series of real challengers. The first up this week was the 2009 VW Jetta, diesel. With a price, gas savings, and performance triple punch the Jetta took the prize for now. That is until the all new 2010 Prius debut later this year to attempt to retake the crown.

I talked a bit earlier of the BMW 3-Series dominating the market. But who is in the second place slot, is it the Infiniti G37, or maybe the Audi S4? How about possibly the Ford Taurus SHO? Before you fall to the floor laughing, you might want to do a double take. With a torque curve that anyone could love, the new Taurus SHO returns with a performance package that might sway even the most hard core enthusiast. Does the Taurus SHO have the moxy to muscle in on the performance sedan market? Only time will tell but I can hardly wait for the first reviews.
